"I come from a very diverse family. Diverse racially, religiously and socio- economically. That has allowed me to live in this world in a more understanding way. I always want to listen and understand where someone is coming from even if I don’t agree with them. I truly believe we are all one community. I want to work for you. We need to create more living wage jobs, focus on housing, improve our schools, and make public safety a top priority. I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate the complicated governmental agencies, and get things done. "
Family - Community
Over a decade ago, I received a devastating diagnosis of a terminal illness with a mere six months to live. Today, I am incredibly grateful to be a wife, a mother of three, and actively involved in raising my niece. It brings me immense pride to share that all of them have had the privilege of attending public schools. In 2022, I was honored to be recognized as Congressman Adam Schiff's Woman of the Year, and in 2023, I received the esteemed title of Distinguished Woman from Senator Portantino. As the Founder/CEO of Local As Can Bee (LACB), an E-Commerce marketplace tailored to support small business owners, I am dedicated to fostering their success. Additionally, I am deeply committed to volunteering within my community of Burbank, California.
Currently, I hold the position of Chair on the Library Board and proudly serve as a member of the Burbank Chamber of Commerce Board. Furthermore, I have actively participated in the Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) Committee of the Burbank Unified School District. Notably, I am one of the founders of The Destiny Education Project (DEP), an organization led by BIPOC individuals. Lastly, I take immense pride in being a member of the Black Women's Democratic Club.
In the begining of my career I was trained and certified as an Underwriter’s Assistant for CNA-Hartford Insurance. I am a high school gratuate. I attended Mission College for my AS in Interior Design and Drafting.
